The WASTEWISE project in which the Elhuyar Foundation is working is a transformative step towards the reduction of food waste in Europe.

Preventing and reducing food waste is central to the European Green Treaty and the Farm to Fork strategy. The European Union has sey clear objetives:

  • Reduce food waste 30% by 2030.
  • Reduce loss throughout the chain.

The Elhuyar Foundation's WASTEWISE project will help design realistic pathways to archive these goals, with benefits for climate change and biodiversity. It also analyses nutritional losses and socio-economic consequiences. The project has been funded by the European Union under the WASTEWISE HORIZON 2020 G.A. No:101181915.
